A NURSERY in Minehead is having double the celebrations after receiving the highest possible Ofsted score on its 20th anniversary.

Cheeky Cherubs, based at Alcombe Children's Centre, received the 'outstanding' score after an inspection on January 30.

The report highlighted 'extremely effective' leadership and that the children were emotionally secure.

Inspector Julie Neal said: "Babies develop very strong bonds with staff, who give them excellent support as they gain confidence in exploring their surroundings.

"Toddlers confidently choose what they want to do, and staff respect their decisions. Older children are excellent role models who are consistently kind and helpful to younger ones."

Manager Jo Buck and her team found out the result on the nursery's 20th birthday.

She said: "I am immensely proud of what we have achieved at Cheeky Cherubs Nursery we are a very big team of 32 staff who work really hard and are so dedicated.

"We have 143 children using our nursery each week and now to have received outstanding on our 20 year anniversary was perfect.

"The inspector told us it was her privilege to have spent the day with us and was blown away with what we do and what we offer the children."

Kayleigh Jury, deputy manager, said: "It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of staff who strive to provide the best for all children every day."
