STUDENTS at a Cheddar school are receiving support after a 15-year-old was hit by a car.
The 15-year-old girl, who is a pupil at The Kings of Wessex Academy, was hit by a car at around 7.45am yesterday (December 13) on the A370 in East Brent.
She was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and remains in hospital.
The school informed parents of the incident through a post on their website.
The post read: "Sadly, we can confirm that one of our students was involved in the accident and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
"The year group have been informed in an assembly this afternoon and we are providing support for them here at the Academy at this difficult time.
With on-going support from our Educational Psychologist colleagues, we will continue to support all our students.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with our student and their family at this time."
