A FORMER top war correspondent for the BBC is set to visit Taunton this weekend to host a talk. 

Kate Adie, 72, will be at King's College Taunton on Friday night (October 6) to deliver her 'Frontline Reporting' talk in aid of ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the national charity of the British Army. 

Kate Adie has been reporting from the where the action is since the SAS broke the Iranian Embassy siege in London in 1980 when Kate gave a running commentary on it to millions of watchers and listeners while crouching behind a car door. 

Kate has had a full career in radio and TV broadcasting over three decades and is the author of five best-selling books, some on the role of women in war and on the home front. 

Tickets cost £20 and includes a drink on arrival. 

Doors open at 6.30pm with the talk starting at 7.30pm.
