ARE you interested in taking up a new challenge at Somerset's largest infrastructure project?

People in West Somerset are being invited to a Hinkley C recruitment event being held in Minehead later this month.

West Somerset Council employment and skills staff are working to ensure the local community is in a good position to benefit from the jobs and opportunities arising from Hinkley C.

The event will be held at The Beach Hotel in Minehead – on the seafront – on Thursday, September 28 from 4pm to 7pm.

Representatives from Hinkley Point C Jobs Service, G4S Security and Facilities Team, Somerset Larder and Somerset Passenger Solutions will be present.

The free event will give people the opportunity to find out more about the project and talk directly to employers about their current vacancies at Hinkley Point C.

Cllr Andrew Hadley, lead member for economic regeneration and growth, said: “We hope that people will take the chance to visit this event and find out more about the opportunities on offer. A similar event earlier this year proved extremely popular.”

David Blight of EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C jobs service said: “Many people would be surprised at the wide range of potential jobs being created, so it is well worthwhile coming along to find out more.

"The Hinkley Point C jobs service has access to live job vacancies across all parts of the project, including among contractors, and can help people spot opportunities, give advice on how to apply and guide people through the application process.”

The event is aimed at West Somerset residents who are currently unemployed, under-employed in part time or temporary roles or those who are employed but want to further their job prospects.
