THIS year’s Chard Summer Show saw double the amount of entries than last year.

The event, which took place in the Guild Hall, Fore Street, on July 22, was organised by the Chard Summer Show for Horticulture and Craft committee.

Children and adults entered the competition to try and be best of the bunch.

Grant Davies, committee chairman, said: “The show went very well, it was fantastic.

“We had way more entries than last year, almost double the amount.

“Lots of children took part in the entries this year. We were very pleased with it.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who entered and turned up for the day.

“And a big thanks also goes to the rest of the committee for organising the fantastic event.”

The Mayor of Chard Garry Shortland was invited to help hand out the prizes to the winners alongside the chairman.

He was accompanied to the show by the Mayoress, Judy Addicot.
