FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Bridgwater's Westfield United Reformed Church this afternoon.
Three fire appliances were sent down to the scene just after 5pm today (Thursday, June 27) to deal with a small fire in a light fitting.
Upon further investigation the crew found the fire had spread to the roof insulation.
The team managed to put out the fire using a hose reel jet, breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan. The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
