ONE Chard resident may have been far more generous than they first thought with a recent charity shop donation.
Avon and Somerset police are appealing to the public for help in tracking down someone who may have unwittingly donated cash to a charity shop as the money was found among a donation of clothes.
Officers were contacted by the St Margaret’s Hospice shop in Holyrood Street, Chard, on Thursday 20 July, reporting that they had found the notes among a donation of clothes.
Now, they are trying to trace the rightful owner of the cash which was found among items donated.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: "It’s possible the clothing came from a house clearance but officers would like to hear from anyone who has donated clothing to the charity within the past week."
If you have donated clothing to St Margaret's during the past week, then contact PC 1188 Paul Thomas by calling 101, quoting reference 5217166641, or visiting www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact.
