BRIDGWATER'S McDonald's restaurant is set to receive a major makeover next month.

This means the fast food branch will be closing for renovation from Monday, August 7, fully-reopening on Tuesday, September 12 - although the drive-thru will remain open until Tuesday, August 29.

The McDonald’s restaurant in Gallagher Retail Park is set to receive a major digital makeover, following significant investment from local franchisee Tim Lamb, creating 20 jobs for the local area.

The current restaurant reimaging plan, currently in its third year, is the biggest and most ambitious in the company’s history, and so far, has seen over 800 restaurants in the UK undergo digital transformations.

Mr Lamb, owner of the Gallagher Retail Park restaurant, says: “Having already seen customers reacting positively to these changes in my other restaurants, I am excited to hear what my customers in Bridgwater have to say about the new features."

The new addition will see an extra 35 seats added to the dining area, two self-order kiosks, free to use tablets and an interactive gaming table to help keep younger customers entertained.

Table service will also be introduced to take the stress out of finding somewhere to sit when carrying food, potentially with children, bags and buggies.

Mr Lamb added: "I am confident that this new look restaurant will be a welcome addition to the area and I look forward to welcoming all of my customers to the updated restaurant.”
