COMPASS Wellbeing is inviting customers to buy 'Pay it Forward' items from its cafe menu.

The goodies will then be issued in the form of vouchers to the neighbouring Taunton Foodbank to distribute to clients to exchange in the cafe on Taunton's Belvedere Trading Estate for something to eat or drink.

Compass catering supervisor Georgie Newson said: “Customers can choose to purchase one or more items from our menu to 'Pay it Forward' - maybe a warming hot chocolate or a tasty panini, or surrender their loyalty card bonus as a 'Pay it Forward' voucher.”

Michelle Edwards, Wellbeing centre manager, said: “This initiative is designed to help people in need have the opportunity to do what most of us take for granted.

"A quick pit stop for a tasty bite or refreshment is something that we all enjoy and if by 'Paying it Forward' others can share in this social activity then it has to be worthwhile.”

Richard Pitman, CEO, said “As a local charity we like to support other charities and good causes and this is a great way to work together to benefit people in our local community.”
