BURGERFEST in Taunton was cordoned off as firefighters battled a pizza oven fire.
Three fire engines from Taunton were mobilised just after 5.30pm today (June 27) to the restaurant on Bridge Street after reports of a fire.
Adrian Woollaston, station commander for Taunton fire station said: "The restaurant is under refurbishment as some new owners have occupied the premises and while they were testing out their new pizza oven there was an oil leak that caused a fire.
"Three fire engines from Taunton came to fight the fire.
"The fire has now been extinguished and firefighters are now making the area safe."
The restaurant, which went out of business earlier this year remains cordoned off while firefighters make the area safe.
No one was injured in the incident.
