PUPILS from Bishop Henderson School in Taunton recently took part in Christian Aid Week.
This year, the week took place between May 14-20, and the focus was on “Refugees”.
Stories and pictures of refugees, in many different situations, were used in their reflections.
The children also heard about the work of the Christian Help for Refugees (CHARIS) –formed by the churches in Taunton who are welcoming some refugee families into the area.
Each pupil was given a length of red wool and as they prayed and thought about refugees they tied a knot in their wool.
At the end of the week all the pieces of wool were collected in, and are being sent to Christian Aid who will deliver them to Downing St as a demonstration of our concern for the refugee situation.
