BREAN Golf Club is set to host its annual charity golf tournament for its 27th year with a whole host of sporting stars set to take part.

The club will be hosting its Sports Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament on June 20 to raise money for St Margaret's Hospice and The Injured Jockey's Fund.

Andrew March, director of golf at Brean Golf Club said: "After a fantastic turn out in 2016 we are looking forward to another successful day on the June 20.

"Everyone had a great time at the event last year.

"It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, with Geoff Twentyman asking me to organise him a team again for this year."

A whole host of well known sporting stars have already signed up to take part in the charity event including Radio Bristol's former footballer Geoff Twentyman, Somerset County cricketer Peter Trego and his county colleague Max Waller, former Bristol Rovers’ midfielder Tony Pounder, Speedway Grand Prix Race Director Phil Morris and former National Hunt jockey champion John Francome, who is also Vice President of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Entry costs £200 for a team of three and each team will be allocated a celebrity sports star to join their team on the day.

Ticket cost includes complimentary tea and coffee, a full English breakfast before play, complimentary drinks tent on the 11th Hole and an evening meal with award’s ceremony.

Organisers are encouraging businesses to 'sponsor a hole' for£100.

All proceeds from the event will be split between the two chosen charities.

The event starts at 12:30pm.
