AN ‘AMAZING’ school fair has raised nearly £3,000 in a village near Chard.
The May Fair for Buckland St Mary School and Nursery was held on May 13 and featured stalls, games, a barbecue, Chard Brass Band, vintage tractors and the Kelly Leigh dancers.
Daisy Spencer, chairman of the PTA, said: “It was absolutely amazing. We raised just under £3,000. We are very very chuffed. The weather was kind and sunny.
“Previously we have raised around £1,500 and last year it was about £2,000. So this was about £800 up on last year.
“The money will go towards the renovation of the library and library books.”
Buckland St Mary still has its sports day and school disco in the summer, and the PTA will be at the Buckland St Mary church fete on July 1.
