A BRIDGWATER College lecturer is training for a tough charity challenge at Brean Down.
Sonny Topham, who teaches various areas of sport, health and fitness at the college, is taking on the mammoth task of walking up and down the Brean Down steps 100 times in a day.
He says he expects the gruelling challenge will take him somewhere between ten and 12 hours.
Sonny has been training hard over the past few months and will be taking on the full challenge on Saturday, June 10, setting off at 6am in the morning.
He is raising money for CLIC Sargent and Sensational Kids Somerset and has already raised £605 for the cause. CLIC Sargent helps children with cancer while Sensational Kids Somerset supports local children with a variety of disabilities.
He has been training with friends and personal training clients and has been posting progress on social media.
Mr Topham said: “Hopefully by doing this I can raise money for two great charities and inspire people to keep fit.
