THE M5 is now clear and traffic is moving normally.

THE slow lane and the hard shoulder of the M5 southbound at Wrangway between Junctions 26 and 27 remain closed following an early morning accident.

A Land Rover and trailer left the carriageway and ended up in a ditch shortly after 7am.

All three emergency services attended, although no-one was injured in the incident.

The vehicle was carrying gas cylinders so fire crews made them safe.

The incident is currently in the hands of Highways England and a recovery team.

Highways England predicts the carriageway will re-open completely between 2,30pm and 2.45pm.

*HIGHWAYS England now estimates that the M5 southbound between Junctions 26 and 27 will clear between 1.45pm and 2pm.

*MOTORISTS travelling south between Junctions 26 (Wellington) and 27 (Tiverton) are being warned to expect delays this morning (Saturday).

The hard shoulder and lane one are currently closed due to an accident involving a vehicle that left the carriageway near Wrangway.

A Highways England spokesman said the incident is likely to be cleared between noon and 12.15pm.
