HUNDREDS of thousands of pounds have been spent trying to scare the pigeons off from under the bridge at Taunton Station.
But the authorities appear to have given up a losing battle and dozens of the birds have been roosting happily there for years, much to the annoyance of pedestrians having to avoid their mess.
Now it looks like a lone pigeon has been sent out on a recce to see whether there's any mileage in setting up another colony of pigeons under the upgraded bridge over Station Road that will form part of the new NIDR road when it opens.
