TWO Burnham-on-Sea community groups have been given a financial boost by Sedgemoor District Council.
Cllr Ian Dyer, the outgoing chairman of Sedgemoor District Council presented cheques for £500 to the Burnham-on-Sea Cadets and the Bay Centre to help them to continue to fund community projects.
Cllr Dyer said: "I have been very impressed at the number of events attended at which the cadets were carrying out stewarding duties and the professionalism that the cadets showed in stewarding."
On a visit to the Bay Centre in Burnham-on-Sea, Cllr Dyer noted that the building could do with some updating.
He was unaware of just how many organisations and clubs used the centre and felt a £500 donation would help fund improvements to the centre.
