SOMERSET Sight is searching for new volunteers to help visit people with sight loss in the county.
The charity wants to bring in volunteers in the Bridgwater, North Petherton and Burnham and Highbridge areas.
Claire Packwood from Somerset Sight said: “However brave and independent one is substantial sight loss increases feelings of loneliness and isolation, even the simplest things such as reading the post, making a cup of tea or going for a walk are made extremely difficult.
“The Volunteer Visiting Service, provided by Somerset Sight, offers a lifeline for people with sight loss and as our local population ages so the demand for our service increases.
“If you have one or two hours per week or fortnight available to visit someone local to your home who would benefit from companionship, please get in touch.”
