CHILTON Trinity School hosted a gathering of inspirational mentors and teachers from five Bridgwater schools, all linked to the Bridgwater Educational Trust (BET).

The event, organised on behalf of the trust by Hilary Adams of CSW Group, celebrated the positive impact mentoring has on young people.

The programme for the evening gave the delegates a chance to network and share best practice.

Mrs Adams said: “All the schools linked to the trust have benefited from this mentoring initiative and it was so good to hear the stories of individual students and what they had gained.

"All of the mentors involved are amazing and really do make a difference.”

CSW Group coordinates the BET programme of activities across the schools linked to the trust and new mentors are always being sought to join the team and grow the success of its work.

Hilary highlighted that one crucial aspect of mentoring is that the students are treated like adults and as one mentor told her: “It emphasises that their whole future is, in many ways, in their own hands and helps develop a constructive approach to their whole outlook on life”.
