A BRIDGWATER maths whizz has earned himself recognition from his college after his great achievements at A-level.

Ben Jones has been named as Maths Student of the Year at Strode College’s annual student awards celebration.

The college, in Street, welcomed back 30 former students who completed courses in the last year to pick up their awards in front of their families, friends and teachers.

Ben was awarded the Brian Jefferson Cup for his amazing work in Maths, and overall for his superb A level results.
The former Crispin School student from Bridgwater earned himself three A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry, as well as getting an A in Physics.
He is now studying Maths at Warwick University.

Ben was among the outstanding Strode students were praised for their excellent academic achievements and the exceptional personal qualities which helped them to reach their goals. In recognition of their achievements all students received an engraved glass award and £50.
Twelve Strode students who successfully completed the Duke of

Edinburgh Gold Award were also honoured during the evening.
