12:36pm Thursday 5th July 2007
A CONCERT of orchestral music involving several schools from Burnham and Highbridge is planned for next week.
The concert will also include an art display, drama and dance performances featuring hundreds of pupils - with proceedings getting underway at 7pm on Monday (July 9) and Tuesday (July 10) at the King Alfred school hall.
There will also be a combined choir featuring over 150 children singing music written by their director, Fodo Higginson, from the county music service.
This will be the fourth schools united concert since 2001 - the aim is to give children of different ages from different schools the opportunity to work together to put on a public performance.
Both performances are sell-outs, with the proceeds going to the Children's Hospice South West - and a cheque for £500 will be presented after the Tuesday performance.
