ASHCOTT Primary School has held its annual book week with a range of activities through the week.

Author A.F. Harrold visited at the start of the week, sharing amusing poems and holding workshops with classes.

On the Tuesday, children were able to visit the 'Book Cafe' and select what they would to read from the reading menu.

Year 6 students organised a book swap and managed to gather nearly 200 books for the children to choose from.

On Thursday, March 16, a ‘Bedtime Story Evening’ was held in the school hall.

Children came back to school with a cushion and a favourite bedtime story to share with their family and friends. Children drank hot chocolate whilst they listened or read stories together by candlelight.

Headteacher Richard Briar said: "The children and staff would like to thank Miss Stevens for all her hard work in organising such an exciting book week."
