AFTER a chilly start with some fog and mist set for Somerset, the county is in for a day of sunshine and warmth.

In their South West summary, Met Office said: "It will be a cold start for many with the odd pocket of mist or fog, but this should quickly clear to leave a fine day.

"With lighter winds than over the weekend it will feel warmer in the sunshine."

The maximum temperature is set to reach around 17C, before falling to a minimum of 4C overnight.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "Showery outbreaks of rain will continue through the morning, these perhaps turning heavy and thundery in places. Despite this, there will still be some warm sunny spells, particularly later."

The temperature is set to peak at 16C.
