A KIND-HEARTED daughter has managed to raise more than £600 for good causes after having her hair cut off.

Taylor-Rose Griffiths took the chop to raise funds for the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (S.U.R.E.) and the Beacon Centre in Musgrove after both her mum and gran were diagnosed with cancer.

The 12-year-old had eight inches of her luscious locks cut off at Combers Hair Salon in Taunton, which has been donated to the Little Princess Trust.

Taylor-Rose, a pupil at Huish Episcopi in Langport, raised £211.25 for S.U.R.E online and £485 for the chemotherapy centre at the Beacon Centre in Musgrove.

Her mum Sally Griffiths and her gran Sonia are now both in remission and were delighted with her efforts.

Sally said: "She did a great job and we are really proud.

"She had a lot more hair cut off than we first thought, and she's already been talking about other ways she wants to raise money for charity.

"At the Tesco store in Langport they are really good at letting the children go along to hold charity car washes and other events so Taylor-Rose has been talking about doing something like that.

"She would like to thank everyone for their donations."
