AN AMOROUS Bridgwater woman caught up in a bridge sex scandal has apologised and said she never meant to cause offence.

The woman, who spoke exclusively to the Bridgwater Mercury and has asked for her identity not to be revealed, got in touch to apologise for her frisky actions, which were caught on camera by shocked mum-of-two Lara Shoemark in February.

Lara, 19, spotted a randy couple getting closer than perhaps they should during daylight hours under a bridge off Old Taunton Road while she was sorting her washing out.

The mother expressed her anger as she said it was the third time she’d seen excited couples fornicating outside of her house.

At the time she said: “I decided to put the pictures online because it’s the third time it’s happened and when my kids are older I don’t want them to see it. It is disgusting.

“It’s very disrespectful. I have got two kids and if they were tall enough to see out of the window I’d have been really angry.”

But now, one woman has come forward to apologise, saying she was ‘caught in the moment’ with her friend.

She added: “I never meant for anyone to feel offended, we don’t usually act like this but we were overcome in the moment.

“I’m just your regular female with regular needs.

“I was with my ‘friend’ who I hadn’t seen for a few months, but we’d been texting all week before this happened.

“We’d only been out to buy a few things from the shop and have a walk, but all the tension of the messages and him just being there with me, led me to just losing our senses for a short while.”

At the time, Lara said the couple sheltered from the rain at first but then starting kissing before turning things up a notch.

She then claimed that the man lifted up his lover’s skirt, before they started having sex standing up.

But the woman denied they had intercourse, saying the loved-up couple waited until getting home - when doors were closed - before getting closer.

She added: “For the record, we didn’t actually have sex there, it was all just foreplay.

“Okay, it was very naughty but it seemed pretty safe just to fool about for a few minutes.

“We did sort each other out in private with the door closed when we got home, though, I can confirm that.

“I couldn’t believe it when we saw it online; I nearly died.

“I’ve not been back that way since, I’m too nervous.

“The thrill of getting caught, I have recently learnt, can be unbelievably arousing, even for the shy.

“But, I never meant for anyone to feel offended.”
