THE Rotary Club of Taunton's 22nd annual 50/50 charity cycle ride and four-mile walk is taking place on Sunday, May 7.

The event is in aid of the Children's Hospice South West, with money going towards a huge TV set and video games for the teenagers' Dolphin bedroom at Little Bridge House, Barnstaple.

Participants will be able to donate half of their sponsorship to a charity of their own choice.

The ride and walk both start and finish at Bridgwater and Taunton College’s Genesis Centre, with entrants choosing to begin between 10am and noon.

Cycle options include a 10-mile family route along part of the Taunton-Bridgwater Canal or a 21-mile route that follows the canal to Maunsel Lock before heading towards West Newton, Langaller and Cheddon Fitzpaine.

A new route is a 15-mile ride that follows the canal to Orchard Charlton before picking up the final section of the 21-mile route.

The walk takes in Longrun Meadow, Netherclay Wood and Longaller.

Refreshments will be available for entrants, families and friends.
