WILLITON fire crews were called to reports of a chimney fire in Crowcombe...only to find it had dealt with when they arrived.
One engine was sent to Higil Lea at 1.27pm.
On arrival, crews advised that there was no signs of fire but continued to investigate.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Crews were then able to confirm that there had been a straight forward chimney fire where no fire fighting action was required.
"Duty of care was left with the occupiers."
