THE 16th Century thatched coaching inn the Masons Arms, at Williton, has new owners.

The pub, in Grade II listed detached premises, has been refurbished over the years but still maintains much of its original charm and attracts local trade and tourists.

New owners Simon James and his partner Aimee Trigell have plenty of previous experience in the hospitality industry.

He said: “We’re looking forward to the new challenge and to meeting our customers - both old and new.

"We hope that everyone in the local community will support us in our new venture."

Mike Phillips, of selling agents Stonesmith, said: “We were delighted to sell this iconic thatched coaching inn, which demonstrates that demand still remains for profitable, freehold pubs and inns throughout the South West."

The business was sold for an undisclosed figure off an asking price of £575,000.
