FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a chimney fire in Curry Rivel last night.
Firefighters from Somerton attended the incident on Wick Oath Road shortly after before 7pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, January 24).
On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a fire involving a log burner.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Due to the complexity of the flue, crews were unable to fight the fire from the hearth so used to a triple extension ladder and roof ladder to fight the fire from the roof."
The fire was extinguished using a hose reel jet and chimney gear, and duty of care was left with the occupier.
