SEDGEMOOR FM DJ Dave Englefield's column is back and it's a cracker featuring an in depth analysis of Busted's 'Year 3000' and asks - who did let the dogs out?

I had an odd chat the other morning with Adrian from West Quay Records.

It all started with us pulling apart the lyrics of Busted’s song 'Year 3000' in which they claim to have gained platinum status for their seventh album which means selling a total of 600,000, but over a thousand year period that’s not very many a year really.

Also, they mention their great-great-great granddaughter who we worked out would be somewhere around 900 years old.

I’m guessing they didn’t do a lot of research when writing the song. That led us on to question a few other songs too, such as, did we ever find out who let the dogs out?

Did Lisa Stansfield ever find her baby after travelling all around the world? Is Bonnie Tyler still wandering around in some French backwater totally lost? Although you’d think she’d have bought herself a sat nav by now wouldn’t you.

The list goes on and I’m sure you’ll be able to come up with some others too. Have fun.

Another thing that has cropped a couple of times this week is people giving you a bit of a story but not the most relevant aspect.

For example, a facebook friend posted that they had a new job and were really excited, but didn’t say where, what or anything else.

Lots of friends sent their congratulations with many asking the obvious question, which was never answered. Why do that? If you want people to know tell them, if you aren’t going to tell us then why mention it in the first place?
