IT is set to be an overcast but mostly dry day across Somerset today.

In their South West summary, the Met Office said: "It'll be a colder day than yesterday, especially in the east.

"It will still be rather cloudy but it should stay dry, with light winds. Some brighter spells are also possible, especially through the afternoon."

The maximum temperature is expected to be around 8C, before falling to a minimum of 1C overnight.

Tomorrow's forecast said: "Wednesday will be generally dry with light winds. There will be variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells, but it'll be a little colder too."

The temperature is set to peak at around 6C.
