A NEW trial date has been set for a headteacher accused of child sex offences.
David Akers, headteacher at Budmouth College in Weymouth, previously pleaded not guilty to historic offences relating to a former pupil when he appeared at Dorchester Crown Court.
Mr Akers was a headteacher in Bridgwater from 1996 until 2002. None of the alleged offences took place in the town or relate to any former pupils from Bridgwater.
He appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court this morning where a trial date was set for January 3, 2017.
