AN EXISTING council service will be closing its doors and reopening at Minehead Library.
The West Somerset Council's Customer Centre, currently housed on Summerland Road, will be closing on December 16.
Shortly after, it will reopen at Minehead Library on December 19.
Customer services will be available at the library for two days a week, between Monday 9am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 5pm and on Friday from 9am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
On December 23, due to Christmas arrangements, the office will close at 1pm and will reopen on Friday, January 6 2017.
The customer services desk will be sharing an office with the registrar service that operates from the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Cllr David Westcott, Lead Member for Communities, said: “We are pleased to be sharing the library building and working with Somerset County Council to maintain affordable front line service provision to West Somerset Council customers in Minehead.
“It makes good sense for local authorities to share space where possible and make the most of the resources that are available.”
Customers needing to access West Somerset Council services outside these hours should telephone the council on 01643 703704 or visit the website: www.westsomersetonline.gov.uk.
