A TAUNTON hospital is celebrating after receiving a glowing Care Quality Commissioning (CQC) report.

The Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital in Staplegrove is meeting all essential quality and safety standards, according to a CQC report.

The inspection which took place in July assessed whether services offered were safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led.

Nuffield Health Taunton Hospital was found to be good in all areas and deemed outstanding in leadership.

The report concluded that the hospital is committed to providing the best patient-centred care and treatment.

Hospital director Sasha Burns said: “The result reflects the daily hard work and dedication of an excellent team that I am proud of and very fortunate to lead.

“We feel this report is a public reflection on how much we care for both our patients and those that deliver services.”

The report stated all patients were respected as individuals and were empowered partners in their care, and that all staff engaged with patients in a friendly and caring manner, working together to deliver co-ordinated care which met the needs of the individuals demonstrating the importance of flexibility, choice and continuity of care.

“Patient feedback was consistently positive.

Inspectors reported that the hospital has a good track record of safety and that there is a culture where staff can report a concern or incidence.

The hospital showed high levels of cleanliness to prevent and control infection, scored 99 per cent for cleanliness in the annual Patient-Led assessment of the Care Environment and it also exceeded the national standard which requires that NHS patients should wait no longer than 18 weeks from GP referral to consultant-led treatment.
