ENGLAND players held a two minute silence at The Grove Hotel today as part of Armistice Day.
The squad, led by captain Wayne Rooney and interim head coach Gareth Southgate, stood in a semi-circle to observe the silence at 11am.
They are currently staying at the hotel in Chandler's Cross ahead of their clash with Scotland in a World Cup Qualifier at Wembley tonight, which kicks-off at 7.45pm.
Both teams have said they will defy FIFA rules and wear poppies on black armbands to mark the day.
Under guidelines from the sport's global governing body, international sides are not allowed to wear kits which have symbols deemed political.
FIFA believe the poppy breaches this rule, but the English and Scottish Football Associations disagree.
By wearing the symbol in tonight's game, both FA's face being fined and potentially having points deducted from their's team qualifying campaign.
