WESTON Hospicecare is asking everyone to consider taking part in their Festive Fridays fundraiser in the lead up to Christmas to raise money for the charity.

The hospice has put together a special Festive Fridays fundraiser pack, complete with printable bunting and decorations, to help supporters generate ideas for their own Festive Friday events.

The free service provides palliative care for people living with a life-limiting illness in Weston-super-Mare and the surrounding areas as far afield as Highbridge, Burnham, Cheddar, Draycott, Yatton, Congresbury and Clevedon.

Their aim is to provide a quality of life that is pain free where patients can be treated and cared for by loved ones.

Community fundraiser Rachel Mansfield said: "Whether it’s in your school, at work, with a club or group, or at home, there are a lot of things you could do this holiday season to help us raise much-needed funds for the hospice."

"There are a lot of ways to get involved – like digging out your Christmas jumpers and Santa hats, holding a Christmas-themed cake sale, dressing up as your favourite Christmas character or holding a collection at the end of your school’s Christmas performance"

"Just pick a Friday and get in touch to find out more."

The hospice has called the campaign a ‘fun and easy way’ to raise funds for the hospice, which will provide care and support for an estimated 300 people this Christmas.
