POLICE say they have received 'significant information' regarding a robbery in Bridgwater.
On Friday, Avon and Somerset Police released a CCTV image of a man they were keen to trace on connection with an incident on October 15.
At around 2.35am on Saturday, October 15, a 55-year-old man was approached by another man on the town centre bridge, between Fore Street and Eastover.
The man demanded cash, and then assaulted the victim, kicking and punching him.
The victim managed to escape and the offender walked off along Fore Street.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Following our CCTV appeal relating to a robbery on Bridgwater town bridge on 15 October, we've received significant information about the identity of the man in the footage.
"Enquiries into the offence are ongoing. Thanks for sharing our appeal."
