MEMBERS of the Tesco Management in Minehead handed over a cheque for £2,500 to the Minehead Pool Project team to help set up a Community Interest Company (CIC).
Peter Wellstood, who has been working towards a pool for Minehead for several years, said: “We are very grateful to Tesco to help us on our way towards a pool for our community.
"There are many administrative hurdles to overcome before we can even start raising money for the actual build but thanks to Tesco we can now set up the CIC which will allow us to hopefully secure land and further funding.”
Tesco Manager Lisa Buss is very keen on supporting the local community in many ways.
“The £2,500 contribution is just the start," she said.
"I am happy to join the CIC as a director to ensure that we continue to work together towards a community pool for Minehead.”
Peter and Lisa will be joined by Elke Winzer (Development Manager, Exmoor Tourism), John Turner (CEO Visit Somerset) and Richard Havers (Exmoor Ambassador) on the board of the CIC.
