THERE will be the spectacular sight of 160 classic Jaguar E-types, one of the world's favourite sports cars, will be travelling through Bridgwater this week.

The cars will be driving through the town on Thursday, September 15 and travelling toward Tenby for an overnight stay.

They are taking part in the E-type Club Round Britain Coastal Drive, supporting Prostate Cancer UK.

The event is the brainchild of author Philip Porter who recently recovered from prostate cancer. He will be driving the entire route in his red E-type convertible, 848 CRY, which appeared in the iconic film, The Italian Job.

Supporters of the RBCD include Jools Holland, Brian Johnson, Jeremy Clarkson, Martin Brundle, Murray Walker and F1 legend Ross Brawn who will be driving one of his E-types on two stages.

The Drive starts and ends at Goodwood. On Monday Sept, five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell waved the flag for 70 cars as they drove up the famous hill-climb. The event concludes with a lap of the famous circuit on September 29.
