PEOPLE of all ages helped raise around £2,500 at the 14th annual James Norie charity football match and fun day at the Wyvern Club, Taunton, on Sunday.
Young footballers got involved for the first time with an under nines seven-a-side tournament, while Neil's Neymars took the honours in the adult fixture with a penalty shoot out win over Carlos's Costas.
There were plenty of fun activities for young and old, who braved the early rain, while the event was rounded off with a barbecue and an Elvis tribute by Bundy Jackson.
The day was in memory of Taunton man James 'Jimbo' Norie, who tragically died on the eve of his 22nd birthday in 2000.
A Taunton Association for the Homeless hostel has been named after him and each year the event raises money for projects there.
James's father Neal said profits from Sunday will go on home comforts such as new sofas and a cooker.
He added: "Thank you to all the people who attended despite the weather and all of the people who sponsored us."
