WATCHET Music Festival returned to West Somerset for a fantastic 10th birthday celebration over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The annual music festival has become a smash hit over the past decade and this year did not disappoint.

Headliners included UB40, The Feeling and The Levellers who all produced amazing performances that got the crowds dancing and singing.

The independent music festival has grown from being a small part of Watchet's Carnival weekend to a standalone festival attracting thousands of people and some stellar acts to boot.

On the Friday night UB40 headlined and gave the Parsonage Farm a real treat with hits including Red, Red Wine and (I Cant' Help) Falling In Love With You.

On the Saturday night five-piece indie-popsters The Feeling were the star attraction.

The crowd-pleasing set included catchy fan favourites 'Sewn' and 'Feel My Little World' and created a great atmosphere.

Former New Order and Joy Division bassist Peter Hook also provided a great set with his backing band The Light.

The Wurzels have made the Sunday afternoon slot their own and once again put on a barnstorming set with sing-alongs.

The festival was rounded off by critically acclaimed folk rockers The Levellers, and hopefully it will be A Beautiful Day for their set.

The band were a very personal booking for organiser Mark and Jackie Bale.

"We have realised a dream that we thought was unattainable for us," Jackie said.

"Having these outstanding musicians right here headlining our Main Stage to end the festival's 10th anniversary celebrations is just awesome."

There were many amazing highlights from the sold out festival with seven-piece jump-jive band Company B putting in a stellar performance once again and The Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican also wowing the crowds.

Following an amazing ten year journey, the festival organisers have decided that there will be a break and there will not be a 2017 festival - but West Somerset will certainly be hoping it comes back with a bang the following year.
