LADY Funeral Directors from North Petherton has once again been celebrating after finding out is is among the finalists for three national awards.

Lel Wallace and Sarah Stuart who own and manage Wallace Stuart Lady Funeral Directors in North Petherton won the prestigious award 'Most Promising New Funeral Director' in 2014 and last year were finalists in the category 'Best UK Funeral Director'.

This year the company is a finalist in three categories: 'Best UK Traditional Funeral Director', 'Best UK Modern Funeral Director' and 'Low Cost UK Funeral Provider'.

The ladies are the only funeral directors in Somerset to have been nominated since the awards began.

This year Lel and Sarah received backing from the British Army for their dedicated care and compassion towards one of their fallen comrades.

Mrs Stuart said: “It is an absolute honour – we are overwhelmed by the congratulatory comments and words of support from the families we have served.

Lel and I are thankful to work in an industry we feel so passionate about and we thank each and every person that took the time to nominate us”.

The ladies will travel up to the glittering awards luncheon in Polchester Hall London, on Thursday, September 8.
