A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital following a three car crash on the A358 at Bishops Lydeard.
The crash happened around 1.30pm this afternoon (Sunday, August 21) and is blocked one lane on the A358 at Bishops Lydeard opposite the Station Road junction.
A woman was seen being placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital in an ambulance, while there were four police cars and two ambulances in attendance.
Ambulance crews were checking on a number of people at the side of the road while police took statements from witnesses.
The crash left three cars damaged with a Volkswagon hatchback particularly smashed up.
The junction is a notorious collision blackspot, with one fatal collision already occurring there in April of this year.
It has also been the site of much controversy as plans to build a new roundabout to make the junction safer have been delayed for four years but are due to start later this year.
