HORDES of people attended this year’s popular Seavington Flower Show.

Organised by the Seavington Gardening Club, the show was held at the Millennium Hall on Saturday afternoon and saw 280 exhibits competing in 58 classes.

An estimated 150 people, of all ages, attended the show.

Karen Day, the secretary for the gardening club, said the annual event had been a huge success.

She said: “It went really well.

“We had an awful lot of exhibits and an awful lot of members of the public attended, so it went really well.

“There were four divisions, flowers, vegetables, backing and crafts and children’s, and they were all very busy.

“This was one of the busiest years, certainly than last year, but we did do a bit of promotion and opened up the baking section, so we definitely had an increase.”
