A HEADTEACHER will stand trial accused of child sex offences.
David Akers, Budmouth College headteacher, pleaded not guilty to historic offences relating to a former pupil when he appeared at Dorchester Crown Court this morning.
Akers, 60, now of Weymouth, spoke only to confirm his name.
His barrister entered not guilty pleas on his behalf.
Akers took up a role as headteacher of a school in Bridgwater in 1996, before moving back to Budmouth school in the Dorset seaside town in 2002.
The offences relate to a former pupil of Budmouth College, not one from Bridgwater.
He will appear for trial at Bournemouth Crown Court on December 19.
