BRIDGWATER residents will be able to "attend" an online meeting with police and council staff for the first time.

Anyone wanting to have their say on a community matter is invited to join Avon and Somerset Police and staff from Sedgemoor District Council for a Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting.

You can join the meeting in person or online, it takes place tomorrow, (Tuesday, August 9) at 7.30pm.

Your local beat team will be on hand, alongside your local councillor, to answer questions at ReCreation.

Sergeant Edwards, PCSO Mees and PCSO Green will also be answering questions online at the same time.

Sergeant Ryan Edwards, from Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We really hope that by taking the meeting online, as well as in person, it will allow more people to take part and ask questions, raise any issues or concerns and help shape and influence policing and problem-solving in their area.

“We understand it is difficult to get out to public meetings and they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. By taking the meeting online too, we hope people will get involved from the comfort of their own homes."

If you want to take part in the online meeting go to www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/newsroom/features/pact-live-webchat/

The chat will begin at 7.30pm and will last for around one and a half hours.

You won't be able to access the chat online until shortly before the meeting starts.

Alternatively you can attend the meeting at ReCreation, Rhode Lane, TA6 6HZ, if you prefer to speak to someone face to face.
