FREE parking will be on offer in Wellington’s three Council car parks for the town’s Food Festival on September 3.
Charges in Longforth Road, North Street and South Street car parks will be waived by Taunton Deane Borough Council to provide an extra boost for one of the biggest events in Wellington's calendar.
The festival, now in its 11th year, comes under the umbrella of the Wellington Food Town initiative and has steadily grown since its inception with exhibitors, cookery demos and a mouth-watering array of stalls.
As well as a huge range of food and drink - locally produced - live music will also be featured along with activities for youngsters.
Councillor Roger Habgood, Executive member for transport and parking, said: "The festival is a fabulous local event and we can offer practical help by providing free parking for the many, many people attending.
"We will also be offering free parking in Wellington on the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas, maintaining a tradition that I know is valued by the town and its traders."
