A YOUNGSTER from Bridgwater took on a charity challenge and braved the shave.

India-le Simmons, aged nine, is a pupil at Bridgwater College Academy and had her her hair shaved for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The challenge took place on on July 22 at her local youth club, Roller coaster, where her dad, Dean, is a a youth worker and Laura Short did her shave.

Dean said: "She was so incredible brave and I'm so proud of her- words can't describe it.

"The love support and encouragement she has received is incredible.

"The event at Roller coaster raised more than £75 and in total, she has raised more than £500 with the sponsor money still coming in.

"She wishes to thank every one who has donated, shared her story and who have sent her kind messages.

"She also thanks all at Roller coaster for helping run the event and raise so much."
