IT WAS a night of glitz, glamour and emotional farewells at the Haygrove School year 11 leavers prom.

Held on Thursday July 7 at Rookery Manor in Edingworth, the evening kicked off at 7pm and the dancing lasted through until 11pm.

Themed as an Alice in Wonderland mad hatter's tea party, the students enjoyed a night of fond goodbyes and good lucks as they prepare to take the next step.

A spokesperson from Haygrove School said: "Our prom was held last week at Rookery Manor.

"We had 182 pupils attend, along with lots of staff who had a great time.

"There was a DJ until 11pm, a photo booth, Cafe Bon Bon ice cream tricycle and Malcolm the magician came and did hands on one to one tricks at all the tables for the students.

"The theme was Alice in Wonderland's mad hatter tea party and it was a lovely occasion."

Ted Kelly and and Lauren Massey were named Prom King and Prom Queen and the evening included thank-you speeches from the school’s Head Boy, Sion Wilson and Head Girl, Ellie Newton.

Lots of staff stayed for the party and there were some tears shed as the evening drew to a close.
