BRIDGWATER folk are being invited to a vintage-themed tea party at Monkton Elm Garden and Pet Centre to help raise money for Barnardo’s.

The event will take place on July 7 from 3pm and there will be live music from the Lazy River Swing Band and the Apple County Chorus.

Afternoon tea will be available and people can chat to representatives from Barnardo’s and find out about the work it does.

There will be a variety of children’s activities taking place during the event including a treasure hunt, a stick the smile on the Cheshire Cat game, colouring in and the chance to make card people, rabbit masks, pink flamingos and heart paper chains.

The Lazy River Swing band will perform from 3pm until 5pm and the Apple County Chorus will be singing from 5.30pm.

Tickets for the party, which cost £6.99 per adult and £3.99 per child are available from the garden centre’s reception desk or via www.monktonelmgardencentre.co.uk.
